"Drug Take Back"

Laurel, Miss. - The Laurel Police Department is working with the DEA on one annual special event.
The Laurel Police Department and the DEA will host their “Drug Take Back” event this Saturday at the Laurel Police Department.
Laurel Police Officer, Cpt. Tommy Cox said, "We're going to take part in the DEA sponsored prescription ‘Drug Take Back’ program here at the Laurel Police Department. During that time, anyone with any type of prescription drugs can come drop them off. No questions asked and we're going to box them up for proper disposal."
"Prescription drug abuse is a huge problem. With kids these days and experimenting with difference things it's just a better to have a proper way to dispose of them. They also tell us it's not good to flush them or to throw them in landfill. It can get back into the water, said Cox."
The event will take place from 8-12 p.m. on Saturday at the Laurel Police Department.
