HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Six teammates from the 2015 Southern Miss football season have been signed to National Football League rosters.

Two Golden Eagles, wide receiver Mike Thomas and cornerback Kalan Reed, were drafted earlier this month during the NFL’s three-day, seven-round draft.

Offensive linemen Norman Price and Rashod Hill, running back Jalen Richard and defensive end Michael Smith each signed as free agents and placed on their respective teams’ 90-man rosters.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Thomas was a sixth-round selection of the Los Angeles Rams, while the 5-11, 198-pound Reed was taken by the Tennessee Titans as the final selection of the draft.

Richard rushed for 1,098 yards on 185 carries, reaching the 1,000-yard plateau and becoming the first Golden Eagle to do so since 2009 against Old Dominion on Nov. 21.

The Alexandria, La., twice rushed for four touchdowns in a game in 2015 and finished with 14 rushing touchdowns, third-best on the Golden Eagles’ single-season chart.

Richard ran for 230 yards and four touchdowns against Texas State, the fourth-highest, single-game rushing total in Southern Miss annals.

He also collected a career-best 284 yards and two touchdowns on 30 catches and added another score on a 95-yard kickoff return at Charlotte.
