FIU takes the first win of the series against Southern Miss

MIAMI, Fla. - Southern Miss faced Florida International Thursday evening to begin a three-game road series.

Southern Miss came back from a four-run deficit and took the lead in the top of eighth inning. However, the Panthers tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The game would then go into extra innings.

Nick Sandlin threw a wild pitch and Florida International capitalized and took the win in the tenth inning.

The Golden Eagles lost 6-5.

The next game will begin Friday at 5:30 p.m.
