Local veterans celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hundreds of local veterans went to Hattiesburg Lake Terrace Convention Center Saturday to pay special tribute and celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Chairman of Hattiesburg Veteran’s Committee, Ted Tibbett said, "It's very important because these guys never got that thank you. They came home without fan fair or glory. Today they've getting that from us and we appreciate them so very much."

Retired veteran, CharLes Brown said, "Well it has changed my whole life. The opportunity I had and how it had helped me, not only through professional growth, but in my career as well."

Veterans received a challenge coin and a t-shirt, as well.
