The V.A. makes its way to Petal

PETAL, Miss. - The Veteran’s Affair made its way to Petal Wednesday morning to assist veteran's with any issues they might have.

Several booths were available for people to ask questions about medical claims, benefits, and much more.

David Walker, G.V. Montgomery Medical Center director said, “The V.A. needs for the veteran's to be our advocates. That means we need to be providing them the services they deserve and that's why we're here. This is a way for us to reach out, get feedback. How are we doing? What do we need to do? What do we need to do differently? The only way you're going to do that is to actually reach out and give veteran's the opportunity to tell us."

Walker said the Pinebelt area is home to the largest population of veteran's in the state, next to Jackson.

The V.A. plans to be back in Petal in the next few months.
