Forrest General physician behind bars, additional charges pending

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A Forrest General Hospital physician and Hattiesburg man is behind bars at the Forrest County jail.
Dr. George McGee, 63, and Russell Golemon, 42, are charged with the sale of a controlled substance, ecstasy, and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, while in possession of a firearm and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Authorities said McGee and Golemon were arrested Thursday by the 12th Judicial Circuit Court Narcotics Enforcement Unit at a Forrest county residence.
Forrest County Investigator, Nick Calico, said the task force was called by the Drug Enforcement Agency to help assist with the search warrant.
"It was a DEA search warrant that was conducted" said Calico. During the search there were also other substances collected and both men may face additional charges.
He added, "The substances will be sent to the Mississippi Crime lab for further charges."
Forrest General Hospital's Public Relations Amanda Kirby said the hospital has no comment at this time.
McGee and Goleman's initial appearance was Friday morning.
