JCJC's Irby selected as an All-American for the second year in a row

ELLISVILLE, Miss. - Jones County Junior College’s Mason Irby has done it again.
Irby, who played rightfield for the NJCAA Division II national champion Bobcats, has been named an NJCAA All-American first-team for 2016. The Southern Miss signee was named a second-team All-American as a catcher in 2015.
Irby helped lead the Bobcats to their first national championship last week in Enid, Oklahoma. He also helped the Bobcats to a school-record 54-9 mark this year.
Irby posted a 387 batting average with eight home runs and 76 RBIs this year. He had 16 doubles, three triples and stole 32 bases. He had a .604 slugging percentage.
Irby was also named All-Region 23 this season.
