West Jones has a new baseball coach
JONES COUNTY, Miss. - West Jones High School hosted a press conference Tuesday to introduce its new head baseball coach.
The school hired Trey Sutton who is a West Jones and Southern Miss alum.
Sutton said “it's a special opportunity and a lot of good memories wearing green and gold. We're going to hit the ground running. We're going to get after it, hopefully get together with the guys and formulate a plan moving forward."
"I think the biggest thing is just learning a lot about the game and being able to spit that back out at kids and teach the game. The goal is not only to win baseball games, but to develop young men into young adults, said Sutton."
Sutton went to West Jones from 1999-2004 and continued his baseball career at Southern Miss.
Sutton made Conference USA honors three times and was also C-USA's Baseball Student Athlete of the Year in 2007.
