HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss first baseman Tim Lynch added to his postseason accolades Thursday by being named third-team All-America by D1Baseball.com.

Lynch, who recently finished his four-year career at Southern Miss, also earned Conference USA first-team honors and ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region second team for his play this spring.

The Jupiter, Fla., native led the Golden Eagles in batting average (.365), runs batted in (59) and walks (39) and ranked among the team leaders in hits (85), doubles (12), home runs (10), runs (49) and total bases (127) for the Golden Eagles. The program finished 41-20 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time, after a four-year hiatus.

For his career, Lynch accumulated a .300 batting mark in 222 games (213 starts) with 37 doubles, a triple and 10 home runs to go along with 142 RBI. He also added 84 walks and was hit by a pitch 29 times during his career. Defensively, Lynch totaled a .990 fielding percentage, playing mostly first and third base during his career and notched 1,743 fielding attempts, committing just 18 errors in his Southern Miss career.

Earlier this month, Lynch garnered selection in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the New York Yankees.

Lynch was one of two players from Conference USA to make the D1Baseball.com All-America teams. Florida Atlantic shortstop C.J. Chatham earned second-team honors.
