HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced Thursday that they have agreed to play future non-conference football games with Auburn and Southern University.
The Golden Eagles and Tigers are set for a pair of contests at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 29, 2018, and on Sept. 26, 2020. This will be the first meeting between the schools since Auburn collected a 27-13 home decision on Sept. 6, 2008.
Southern Miss and the Jaguars from Baton Rouge will play a single game Sept. 9, 2017, at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium. It marks the first meeting between the two schools in football.
These games add to a recent previous release regarding future Southern Miss football opponents, which includes a home-and-home series with ULM. In the first game of that series, Southern Miss travels to face the Warhawks at Malone Stadium in Monroe, La., on Sept. 16, 2017. The Golden Eagles will then host ULM in Hattiesburg on Sept. 8, 2018.
Under first-year coach Jay Hopson, the Golden Eagles open the 2016 campaign, Sept. 3, at Kentucky. Season tickets for the upcoming season can be purchased online at SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
