Local church gives free food to LPD

LAUREL, Miss. One local church's act of kindness Wednesday put smiles on the faces of Laurel Police Officers.

Mark Houston, Jesus Name Home Church member said, "After church Sunday, I decided to reach out to the law enforcement. We decided that we wanted to reach out to our police officers and tell them thank you for what they're doing in our community. I had help at the church and we smoked meat all for them today and brought them food."

Houston said the church also provided food for the Ellisville Police Department last week.
