16 arrests so far in drug round-up


FORREST COUNTY, Miss. - Hattiesburg Police, Metro Narcotics, Lamar County Sheriff's Department, Forrest County Sheriff's Department and various other agencies performed a drug round-up Thursday and caught several people.

Hattiesburg Police Officer, Lt. Jon Traxler said, "There was a total of 16 arrests so far that have been made that cleared over 25 warrants. They seized one vehicle, they found two people who have been reported missing as well during this round-up, and they got five weapons off the streets.”

“They were able to recover counterfeit money. They also recovered machines to be used to make counterfeit money, as well as prescription narcotics that was seized: cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine was all seized during this round-up," said Traxler.

Traxler said they started this investigation with all the agencies a few months ago. The investigation is ongoing.
