Boys and Girls Club of America president & CEO visits H'burg

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Club welcomed-in someone special Tuesday.

Jim Clark, Boys and Girls Club of America president and CEO, made an appearance at the site to talk to the kids and staff members.

Clark said "I'm here today not only to see the great work that's taking place, but also to hear more about some of the challenges that youth and the community are facing and how the Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Clubs are working together to solve some of those challenges."

"And it's exciting to see in their eyes what they can see in hope and opportunity for the future. And I can't be more excited when I see kids and teens like that, not just having a good time, but also envisioning a brighter future," said Clark.

Clark said 1/5 kids are not graduating from high school and a 1/3 of children are obese.

Clark wants to redefine those odds so kids can graduate and live healthy lives.
