Seminary Police receive donations, worst case scenario

SEMINARY, Miss. - In the midst of the recent police shooting incidents in Dallas and Baton Rouge, the Seminary Police Department received some donations.
The department received a bulletproof vest and two AR-15 rifles from Hattiesburg's American Pawn and Jewelry Store and other local business people this week.
Chief of Seminary Police, Michael Kelly said, "The feeling is indescribable as an administrator here and knowing the outpouring of support. Not just to my department, but for every police department in the Pine Belt and across the nation. It's an indescribable feeling when you know that you have people in your community who'll stand with you and it's just not them saying those words. When they come and put a check on your desk, that means something. That means that they trust you."
Kelly said his philosophy is about not only matching the enemies weapon system and training, but to exceed the enemies weapon system and training.
Kelly said there needs to be more community education amongst officers.
