Engineering Assistant
Engineering Normal hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm with adjusting time for when working off hour and emergency calls.
What is expected
Motivated Self-starter, able to work efficiently with and without direct supervision
24/7 on-call availability to ensure continuous operation of the station on rotation
Must have the ability Multitask and to prioritize
Interact with management and staff at all levels
Some travel may be required as needed
Job Requirement and Responsibilities
Ability to setup, configure, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair of Broadcast Equipment, Transmitters
Manage and maintain all ancillary systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation
Supervise contract engineers, and outside vendors in periodic repair, maintenance, and operation of broadcast equipment and systems as and when needed
Install, maintain, modify, operate and support broadcast systems and equipment at Remote transmission sites and studios.
Assist with install, operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintenance of IT equipment and systems( LANs, WANs, Switches, Routers, servers, Workstations, network wiring and etc).
Perform system level troubleshooting of technical facilities, including, but not limited to, control rooms, studio equipment, audio equipment, and computer systems associated with those areas.
Install, operate, maintain and resolve issues with station office equipment.
Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to Vendor Engineering Support for further diagnosis.
Perform General maintenance when necessary
Perform equipment and systems software installation and updates.
Check daily to ensure the transmitter is operating properly and in accordance with F.C.C. regulations.
Maintain station records, system documentation and routine logs including but not limited to transmitter, EAS, tower and maintenance logs.
