One arrested, one injured in stabbing incident

LAUREL, Miss. - An altercation in Laurel turned ugly Sunday evening.

Laurel police said they responded to a stabbing incident near 15th Avenue and Lee Street.

Police arrested the suspect, which is a 17-year-old female. The victim was a female and she received treatment and is reported to still be in the hospital.

The suspect is currently being held at the Jones County Juvenile Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
