JONES COUNTY, Miss. - This is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, the homeowner at 186 Jordan Drive was awakened by what sounded like rain. Upon further inspection, she discovered that her home was beginning to fill with smoke and called 911.
At 1:10AM, Powers, M&M and Glade Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of a residential structure fire; firefighters were advised by dispatch that everyone had exited the home safely.

The homeowner and two juveniles were treated for light smoke inhalation by EMServ medics but were not transported to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Jones County Fire Investigator Scott Gable.
Rescue personnel on scene included Powers, M&M and Glade Volunteer Fire Departments, EMServ Ambulance Service and Jones County Fire Coordinator 2 Gordon Pitts. Dixie Electric was also on scene.
