Laurel man charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence
JONES COUNTY, Miss. - This is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
In the early morning hours of August 6, 2016, a Jones County Deputy saw a woman run toward him from a parked vehicle at a gas station on Chantilly Street in Laurel, whose face was bloodied. She appeared to have been assaulted.
The Deputy called for assistance and the victim reported her husband, John Corey Logan, 28 of Laurel, had beaten her while they were returning from Hattiesburg to Laurel. Logan was inside the business when deputies were first speaking with the victim.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Logan denied doing anything to the victim. The victim stated the argument began over a song and quickly escalated during the ride home.
She reported Logan had punched her in the face and chest.
Logan's bond was set at $15,000.
