Jones county woman charged with embezzlement, turns herself in to authorities

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - This is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff's department.

On July 20, 2016, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies received a complaint from a local business that stated a former employee, Lacey K. Dickerson, 31 of Laurel, had used a large sum of money from the company to pay on her personal accounts.

Dickerson spoke with Jones County Sheriff’s Department Investigators on August 1, 2016.

The meeting ended with the understanding that an arrest warrant would be issued and she was to turn herself in.

After several days of dodging authorities, Dickerson was given until 12 Noon on August 10, 2016 to turn herself in.

Dickerson did not show at the given time. After an extensive search, Dickerson’s attorney contacted Investigators and confirmed she would appear on August 11, 2016.

Dickerson is charged with Embezzlement and her bond was set at $25,000.
