Coach Hopson says his team is ready for Kentucky

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss’s first game of the season is Saturday against Kentucky.

The coaches and players are very excited to get the season rolling.

Head coach, Jay Hopson said, "You always like a fast start. I don't think anybody doesn't. But the reality is we know it's going to be a 60-minute ball game. Anytime you play a team of that caliber of Kentucky that you know it's going to be a war."

Linebacker, C.J. Perry said, "Me personally, I'm tired of hitting the same people every day. I think it'll be very, very exciting to hit someone else different in a different color jersey. To be able to beat an SEC opponent, it'll mean a lot to all of us. But, we're not going to hang our hats on one game."
