JCSD hosts blood drive, surpasses goal
JONES COUNTY, Miss. - The Jones County Sheriff's Department (JCSD) hosted a blood drive to raise blood donations with United Blood Services Tuesday.
This year JCSD's goal was to raise 24 units of blood said Allyson Knotts with JCSD. Authorities said by the end of Tuesday the department surpassed its goal and raised 27 units of blood for the community.
JCSD's Major Jamie Tedford said the department encourages the community and all law enforcement officials to donate to those who need blood.
"You never know whenever it is going to be you, your child, your family who will need blood, we encourage everybody to come and give" said Major Tedford.
