JONES COUNTY, Miss. - Members of the Jones County Sheriff's Department recently got back from their trip to Ponchatoula, Louisiana to pass out food to flood victims.

Jones County Sheriff's Department grant administrator, Lance Chancellor said they toured three different areas.

-One had 49/51 homes impacted by water.

-Another area had 100 percent of its homes flooded.

-The area near French Corner Baptist Church had 22/27 homes with water inside them.

Chancellor said "just sad scenes you know? Folks just wondering around, wondering what to do. Every belonging that you have in your home. Just imagine being piled up in the front yard, because it's been soaked with flood waters, and that's what you saw house after house, after house, after house. The smells are horrendous unfortunately. And folks just struggling right now with the devastation brought upon them."

Chancellor said they will go back if any victims are still in desperate need of help.
