USM's Allen, Thigpen are ready for Savannah State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss's impressive come-from-behind victory against the Kentucky Wildcats is something Golden Eagle fans will probably be talking about for a long time.

But, some of the players are ready to move on and focus on this week's match-up, which is against Savannah State.

Defensive lineman, Xavier Thigpen said, "Yeah it's a big win to play against an SEC team and win. But at the end of the day, we're moving forward from here."

Tight end, Julian Allen said, "It's passed us now. It was a great feeling. It's something we'll never forget. But now, we're on to the next one. Our mindset is just we're going back to work. We go back to work tonight, and we're on to the next."

The Golden Eagles will try to move on from that impressive, 44-35 win against Kentucky and try to go 2-0 in front of their home crowd at “The Rock” Saturday night.

The game will start at 6 p.m.
