SEMINARY, Miss. - The Seminary Police Department is starting its 4th Annual "Coats and Kicks for Kids" fundraiser. The department hosts this yearly donation in an effort to keep kids warm during the cooler months.
Chief Michael Kelly said, "When we see a kid walk on the school campus, and they are wearing sandals instead of wearing socks and shoes, we know they cannot be comfortable."
Last year the department raised 50 items to keep the kids warm and this year it hopes to raise more. Chief Kelly said, "If you would like to donate to bring a pair of new shoes and coat, we think these kids deserve the very best."
"We want to give these kids something brand new" added Chief Kelly.
The department will be accepting donations up until October 4 at the police station.
