USM's Children's Center, Lady Eagle visit

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Lady Eagle basketball team visited the university's Children's Center Thursday morning.

The kids got a chance to interact and play with the women's basketball team and staff, and they really created a nice bond.

Director of Children’s Center, Sarah Case-Price said, "They get to see our children and the parallels between what they face and becoming better athletes and watching our children face some of the same challenges in independent movement. It really can be eye-opening to them. But, it's a great play-partner for our little friends too."

"To give back and make these children smile is something that warms your heart and warms the heart of many and so we're very honored to have this opportunity to be here," said head coach, Joye Lee-McNelis.

The Children's Center and the Lady Eagle basketball team have partnered with each other for nearly ten years and plan to continue to do so.

Price said the soccer team and football team will be paying a visit to the Children's Center very soon.
