BREAKING: Hattiesburg police and firefighters respond to 'bomb threat' at Federal building
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police and Fire department responded to a bomb threat at the federal building downtown.
Hattiesburg Public Information Officer Lieutenant (Lt.) Jon Traxler said "Around 10 a.m. HPD was called to assist with blocking areas around the federal building due to something suspicious going on inside."
Lt. Traxler said the areas affected are Main Street from McLeod to Pine St. and Eaton St. at Forrest and New Orleans at East 2nd.
Federal authorities are handling the investigation. As of 12 p.m. no injuries said Lt. Traxler.
