Smith, Bradley react to their first loss of the season
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss suffered their first loss of the season Saturday against Troy, by a score of 37-31.
But, the players kept their heads high and made no excuses.
Running back, Ito Smith said, "That's a great football team we played. We just had too many mistakes today. I don't think the rain had nothing to do with it. I think we just couldn't really get in a groove."
The Golden Eagles had an impressive drive in the last two minutes, but came up short with an incomplete pass in the last seconds.
Nose tackle, Dylan Bradley said, "We came up a little short. But, there's a lot of positives to take out this game, as a team, as a whole, as men. I'm proud of the guys. I'm proud of Nick (Mullens)...that last drive showed his leadership. Last pass...just didn't go our way tonight."
Southern Miss will start conference play this week and look to get a win on the road against UTEP.
