Southern Miss loses, 37-31 to Troy


HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss suffered its first loss of the season Saturday against Troy.

The game came down to the last second, but an incomplete touchdown pass from the Golden Eagles enabled Troy to pull off the 37-31 victory.

Head coach, Jay Hopson said, "As a coach your proud of the fight. That's the reality. You gave yourself a chance to win there at the end. It felt like everything that could go wrong, was going wrong. And we certainty gave ourselves a chance to win at the end, and that's something you got to be proud of."

The Golden Eagles will travel to El Paso, TX Saturday to take on UTEP.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
