Subway robbery, police sought suspect

PETAL, Miss. - An armed robbery at a local Subway Saturday now has police investigating.

Petal investigator, Sammy Ray said, "An unknown Black male entered one of our Subway restaurant locations. Subject brandished a weapon and demanded the money that was located within the cash register."

Police said the robber displayed a semi-automatic pistol, demanded cash, then ran off toward Walgreen's with it.

"Fortunately, no was injured during this. Petal is a low-crime area with violent crimes such as those. But, occasionally some of those do spill over into the Petal area," said Ray.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
