Merit Health Wesley, “Rehabilitation Appreciation Week”

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - This week is “Rehabilitation Appreciation Week.”

This is a week to recognize all those who work in rehabilitation therapy and help make people’s lives better.

Cindy Cochran, Merit Health Wesley’s co-director of rehabilitation department said, “We feel like we have one of the most comprehensive therapy departments in the area and we’re able to meet the needs of the whole family. We have therapists who specialize in pre-mature infants that were in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) all the way through grandparents.”

“One of the great things about being a therapist is that you really get to see people change for the better and achieve their goals and get back into their normal lives. And it’s just so rewarding to see people get back into their normal lives, and there’s true joy that comes from that. So we think it’s a real blessing to get to be a therapists and serve our patients,” said Cochran.

Cochran said Merit Health Wesley have been recognizing “Rehabilitation Awareness Week” for as long as she’s been working there, which is 18 years.
