Veterans Affair

PETAL, Miss. - Sonny Montgomery hosted its Veterans Affair Wednesday.

Veterans from all across the Pine Belt had a chance to attend and check on their claims and receive other important information.

Director of Veterans Benefits Administration, Darryl Brady said, "We want to reach out to as many veterans as possible. It's very important. We want to approve our veterans experience. If we can get our veteran's to see that we are actually working for them, it would mean the world to us."

"Just because we completed a claim and let's say less than 125 days, doesn't necessarily mean that the veteran is happy. So we have to look at the totality of the situation to come up with a better way to serve our heroes," said Brady.

Brady said nationwide, the Veterans Affair has produced 1.4 million claims for the second year in a row.
