Kool Smiles, "Operation Troop Treats"

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Kool Smiles will soon be having its annual "Operation Troop Treats."

This is a chance for kids around the community to help troops around the world enjoy Halloween.

Senior associate dentist, Dr. Tara Pursley said, "Around this time of year, kids are eating a lot of candy because of Halloween, so we wanted to come up with a way to minimize that candy intake."

"What we do is we collect candy every year. We ask for 25 pieces of unopened candy in exchange, kids can get a toy. And then once we collect all of the candy, we send it overseas to the troops. This is a way our community can help support our troops and our troops can have a little taste of home," said Pursley.

Kids can come to Kool Smiles between October 28-November 5 to drop off candy.
