Dr. Robert Williams to serve as full-time superintendent for HPSD

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Public School District named interim superintendent, Dr. Robert Williams Thursday night as its new full-time superintendent.

Dr. Williams served as the interim superintendent since July 1, 2016.

"The first and main focus is the academic success of our schools. The goal is for all of our schools to be rated at least a C or higher. Secondly, we want to continue our physical responsibility. And third, we want to build community partnerships and community engagement," said Williams.

Dr. Williams also served as a student teacher, teacher, assistant principal, and assistant athletic director within the school district.
