5 HFD firefighters recognized for promotion

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The city of Hattiesburg recognized 5 firefighters Monday at the Jackie Dole Community Center.

Stephen Mooney, Shelton Russell, Brian Duncan, Joseph Collins, and Rickey Sheppard were all recognized and promoted for their efforts of continuing to grow within the field and passing strenuous tests.

Hattiesburg Fire Department Chief Presley said, "Oh it is a very hard, because a lot of times you got to compete against maybe, twenty other guys trying to get two positions, and they are the cream of the crop."

"They work so hard to get there, and they waited so long. Some of these guys have been here for a long time and they just now, getting promoted to those positions" said Chief Presley.
