Major General Hammond served on the front lines as the commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and Command of U.S. Forces in Iraq.
He said he is weary of change, but he thinks all past presidents have supported the military.
“So I just, I think, the military is going through some challenges and transitions, we have been, war weary, they are war weary and its just a we’re transitioning and rebounding" said Major General Hammond.
He added, "...and we always do that, you can look at the cycles of change, so I am sure that President Elect Trump will lead our military, just as past presidents have.”
