Coach Hopson is proud of his senior class

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss has not had the season many people expected them to have.

After making it to a conference championship last year, some people expected them to make it to a conference championship this year.

But the effort the team has brought, especially the senior class, is something head coach, Jay Hopson appreciates.

"I'm proud of that bunch. It's a bunch of young men that have fought hard for Southern Miss. Many of them fought through so many adversities. They've had a lot of high's and low's. But, they certainty are a group that has fought and a group that I am proud to be their coach. They're an enjoy to be around. They come out every work day during the week and they work hard, and just an outstanding group of young men. A bunch of guys that certainly wore the black and gold and represented Southern Miss admirably, and did a great job," said Hopson.

If Southern Miss wins against La-Tech on Friday, the team will become bowl eligible, which will possibly give the senior class another game to play.
