Southern Miss is ready for their battle against La-Tech

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss will take on La-Tech Friday and will be facing a team that leads the conference and several defensive statistics.

The Golden Eagles want to win this game, and they know they will have to play their best to become bowl eligible.

Offensive coordinator, Shannon Dawson said, "We got to protect the quarterback. We got to get in manageable situations to move the chains. When people get in 3rd and long against them, their success rate is not very good."

"You know you just got to keep on fighting. I mean it's adversity. Coach (Jay Hopson) talks about adversity all the time and how you got to deal with adversity. This is part of it. Unfortunately, one team's going to win and one team is going to lose. And right now, we're coming to an end we don't want to be on. But, that's part of it, we just got to keep fighting," said defensive coordinator, Tony Pecoraro.

Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. at The Rock.
