Southern Miss students are excited for Thanksgiving


HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Thanksgiving is only days away and various USM students are looking forward to a break from school.

But, they are also thankful.

Student, Jakiya Kelly said, "I'm thankful for my family. I'm thankful for God for keeping me here."

"I'm thankful for just being on this campus, getting my education, just everything that I'm doing man. I just love it. It's a beautiful place," said student, Jalen Seaberry.

Student, Chandler Dunaway said, "My parents are like crazy supportive of me. I'm a music major, so obviously, they have to have a little bit of faith in me and support me."

"I am thankful for my family, my friends, this university, so I can go to school, and the fact that I'm bilingual," said student, Asia Ribbens.

They are also thankful for the food they are about to devour.

Kelly said "dressing and ham."

"My mom said she's making some potato salad and I'm a potato salad feen," said Dunaway.

Ribbens said "probably chicken dumplings. I like my chicken dumplings."

"Potato salad, macaroni with the layer of melted cheese on top of it, dressing, the ham. I'm not a big fan of turkey, but you know you can sub that out with ham," said Seaberry.
