Car crash takes the life of a local woman

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - One local woman passed away Tuesday morning after a fatal car crash.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman, Brent Bartfield said state patrol received a call about a car accident near Evelyn Gandy Parkway at 8:36 a.m.
Bartfield said a woman was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu going westbound on Evelyn Gandy Parkway and struck a 2000 Mercury, driven by an unidentified female.
The victim was about to turn onto Monroe Road and was hit by the other driver.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, officials are ruling this as accidental.
The investigation is ongoing.
