One person shot in burglary

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A burglary took place Tuesday that involved the use of a deadly weapon.

Hattiesburg Police said they responded to a burglary on the 300 Block of S. 17th Ave.

When officers arrived, one person was shot. The suspects stole electronics and jewelry, and fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The victim was taken to the hospital and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
