Man arrested for home invasion

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - On the evening of November 29, 2016, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a home in Laurel, just off Highway 28. The call was in reference to a possible home invasion. The victim stated his 13 year old and 5 year old were at home when their neighbor, Christopher Biglane, 44 of Laurel, came inside the home without warning or an invitation. Biglane was acting strange saying he wanted to see their 11 year old sister and date her. Biglane then left the home. When the victim returned home, the suspect was no longer on the scene. The 13 year old stated Biglane had gone into his sister’s room twice as if he was looking for her.

A few hours later, deputies were dispatched back to the residence in regards to the suspect returning, the backyard, acting unusual and frightening neighbors. The victim stated Biglane was knocking on the door and said he wanted to talk to the victim and get approval for him to “date” the victim’s daughter. Deputies located Biglane near the residence. He attempted to flee on foot, but deputies were able to take him in to custody. When asked why he was at the victim’s home, Biglane stated, he just wanted to date the victim’s daughter. A search was conducted where drug paraphernalia was found as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.

Biglane was charged with Resisting Arrest (misdemeanor); Possession of Paraphernalia (misdemeanor); Possession of Controlled Substance (misdemeanor) and Burglary ; Breaking and Entering Inhabited Dwelling; Home Invasion (felony). Judge Howell Beech set his bond at $51,500 and a no contact order, valid for one year.
