Search continues for missing 93-year-old Hattiesburg woman

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A Silver Alert was issued by authorities last Thursday for 93-year-old Martha Nelson of Hattiesburg.

Authorities said she was last seen November 11 on Golf Course Road. Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) Spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said the family reported her missing Dec 1.

Officials said Nelson is 5'3, 120 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. HPD have been searching nearby woods hoping for answers.

“There is a possibility that she has some onset of dementia, she had not been diagnosed, with it, but occasion she would forget things" said Lt. Traxler.

"So that is why we want the public to know that in case, they have located someone who fits her description, but may not say that’s her name or something.”

Lt. Traxler said at this time, they do not expect foul-play, but are looking into all leads.
