Lamar Co. inmate injured during work detail

LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. - One Lamar County inmate is currently fighting for his life after being injured during a work detail.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman, Brent Barfield said a person rear-ended a garbage truck on Purvis Columbia Road Thursday afternoon as it stopped to pick up garbage in front of a residence.

Lamar County inmate, Eric Anthony was injured during the accident.

Anthony was taken to Forrest General Hospital and is suffering life-threatening injuries.
