Bill McGillis resigns as USM Athletic Director

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Less than 48 hours from the Golden Eagles winning the New Orleans Bowl, Athletic Director, Bill McGillis has resigned.

According to the university's website, McGillis has accepted a new gig.

He will now serve as the University of San Diego's Associate Vice President and Executive Athletic Director.

McGillis said he is proud of the young men and women who wear the black and gold. The entire Southern Miss staff and faculty, as well as the coaches, and the Golden Eagle fan support.
