First ever Hattiesburg dog park needs donations
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Construction began this week at the first ever dog park in Hattiesburg, but officials said the park is short $7,000 to open in 30 days.
It took the city 3 years to plan the 'See Spot Dog Run' park on West Pine street.
After three years of raising almost $150,000, the city and Pine Belt Community Foundation said the $7,000 will help with the last finishing touches to the park.
Board of Directors James Moore said, "If you are looking at that perfect gift for Fido, this is a gift that you can give your favorite pet.
"It is the only way that you can buy a gift for your dog that will be 100% tax deductible" Moore said.
