HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The city of Hattiesburg celebrated its annual employee lunch at the CE Roy Community Center Thursday.
Every year the city hosts an annual lunch for its employees before the Christmas holiday and hundreds gathered together to celebrate.
Those in attendance were the Hattiesburg Fire department, Police department, administration, city officials, and department workers.
Mayor Johnny DuPree said, “We have music, we have food, its just a chance for people to get together in the community."
He added, "You know this is the only chance that the employees get to be together to be at one place and one time, to see everyone and other employees they have not seen since the year before.”
City employees told FOX 23 news that this year's lunch was bigger than 2015's annual Christmas lunch.
