Paul B. Johnson State Park, fireworks show

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Paul B. Johnson State Park is having its annual New Year's Eve fireworks show, and is expecting a big turnout.

Assistant manager, Zack Edwards said, "It's a traditional fireworks show. We're trying to get it bigger and better every year. It's great for the kids. Some people see one fireworks show, they seen them all. But, we try to go above and beyond to make a bigger, better fireworks show every year."

This year, the park will have more explosive fireworks.

"There will be bigger shells that they shoot off. It's going to be some 4 inch shells. There will be bigger booms, and it will light the sky up a little bit better," said Edwards.

The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Edwards said there is a $6 entry fee to get in for the fireworks show.

He also said people should arrive around 6:45 p.m. to get a good spot.
