Severe weather, possible tornado
JONES COUNTY, Miss. - The Pine Belt received 1-2 inches of rain in the last couple of days, and Monday had a bit more severe weather.
Marda Tullos, Jones County EMA executive director said, "Another round will come this afternoon. Our timing in Jones County is 4-7 p.m. They (National Weather Service) kept stressing the risk of strong winds, possibly 70 mph winds, possible hail, and also possibly a tornado ahead of the line that's coming through."
Tullos cautions the public to not be outside during the bad weather.
"If you don't need to be out on the roads, please don't. Just keep yourself safe and stay at home," said Tullos.
Tullos said the severe weather should pass after Monday night and cooler temperatures may be expected later on in the week.
