A magical evening announces FestivalSouth 2017

FestivalSouth is pleased to announce a magical evening for families! On Saturday, January 14 at 7 p.m. in the Saenger Theatre, FestivIllusion showcases three amazing acts of magic and physical wizardry. It will also be the exclusive announcement of FestivalSouth 2017 that will showcase the best of arts, entertainment and culture for its eighth season this summer, June 1 – 17.
“There is nothing more magical than watching the excitement of a child experiencing great illusions and having a night on the town with their family” said FestivalSouth Artistic Director Mike Lopinto.
The evening highlights three acts and three major event weekends of FestivalSouth. The evening opens with local favorite Amory Hermetz who has studied with some of the most influential magicians performing today. Not your average magic act, this promises to be an experience you won’t soon forget.
Then, just off recent world tours and the musical Pippin!, Gretchen Ernst brings her innovative circus artistry to create an act all her own. From hand-balancing and remarkable flexibility, her programs are like three-dimensional art come to life.
Finally, returning favorites, The Crescent Circus is a husband-wife duo, Nathan Kepner and Morgan Tsu-Raun, who fuse their expertise in magic and circus arts respectively to deliver a one-of-kind experience on stage. Beginning in New Orleans, The Crescent City, Nathan and Morgan have entertained corporate and collegiate audiences across the country and even overseas. Their original stage work has earned them six international titles, performances at London’s prestigious Magic Circle Theater and an appearance on The Tonight Show.
And for all the children and children at heart, FestivalSouth’s newest mascot, Artie, will be there to greet everyone and give hugs.
