HPD is ready to move into new facility

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police Department has its new temporary home ready to move in.

Police will move into Bill Russell Municipal Building located on 300 Klondyke St.

The new facility will give police more working space areas.

Chief of Police, Anthony Parker said, "The environment you work in is very important. You feel better when you come into a facility when you don't have to worry about water or pipes bursting, air conditioning going out. So, the employees of the Hattiesburg Police Department are very excited about moving into this facility."

Mayor, Johnny DuPree said everyone should move into the brand new Bill Russell Municipal Building by March 1.

When everyone moves in, contractors will tear down the old police department and build a new one at the same location on James Street.
